What Happens at Into The Wild Glamping During Winter?

The tents are packed away, the firepits are silent, and the evenings are darker now. It might look quiet from the outside… but winter is one of our busiest seasons at Into The Wild Glamping.
As soon as we close the gates for the year, the real “behind the scenes” work begins. While our bell tents rest in their cosy storage spaces, we focus on caring for the land, restoring the site, and making sure everything is ready for another magical year in May 2026.

🌾 Taking Care of the Land
The land around our site isn’t just a backdrop—it’s the heart of Into The Wild. After months of guests walking the paths, relaxing by the woods and stretching out on the grass, the site needs time to breathe.
We look at how the ground has recovered, where the tents stood, and where foot traffic was heaviest. Winter gives us the chance to reseed worn areas, tidy edges, and protect the spaces that wildlife calls home.
The Wolds have their own rhythm, and we try very hard to work with it, not against it.

🔧 Winter Glamping Maintenance: The Things You Don’t See
From May to October, our priority is you—hot tubs warmed, firepits stocked, bedding fluffed, fairy lights twinkling.Winter is when we finally pause and give everything the attention it deserves.
Tent canvas is deep-cleaned, dried and stored safely.
Wooden furniture is sanded, oiled, or repaired.
Decking is checked and treated.
Fittings, fixtures and lighting are inspected.
Baths and hot tubs are drained, serviced and tucked away.
Pathways are cleared and maintained.
It’s not glamorous, but it’s the difference between “nice glamping” and “unforgettable stay.”

🌙 The Wildlife Takes Centre Stage
Once guests leave, the woods become busier in a different way.Deer move closer to the treeline. Owls call more confidently at night. Buzzards hover over the fields in the early morning.
This time of year reminds us why we created Into The Wild in the first place: peace, nature, and slow moments that most of us never get to see.
Winter gives those creatures their space back for a little while—and we’re happy to step aside.

💭 Dreaming Ahead to 2026
Just because the tents are down doesn’t mean the thinking stops.Winter is our planning season.
We reflect on everything guests loved in the previous year—quiet mornings, long walks, private hot tubs, outdoor baths—and we ask ourselves how we can make those experiences even more special when we reopen.
There are always new ideas brewing: improvements to facilities, tiny touches that make your stay warmer or cosier, and occasionally a new addition we can’t wait to share.
We don’t rush it. We’re building something we want you to feel proud of every time you arrive.

☕ Winter is Our Reset
If you’ve stayed with us, you know our site is small, personal, and full of heart. We’re not a resort. We’re not a theme park. We’re a place to breathe.
And winter is when we refill our own cup so we can give you the calm, thoughtful stays you come here for.
🌿 We’ll See You in May 2026
Until then, Willingham Woods will be quiet, the fields will rest, and the stars will keep shining over this little corner of Lincolnshire.
Thank you for being part of our first season. We can’t wait to welcome you back for the next.
