One of the things we love most about running Into The Wild Glamping is hearing what our guests get up to while they’re here. And do you know what comes up time and time again? The walking.
Being tucked against the edge of Willingham Woods and right on the Viking Way means we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to local walks. Whether you're up for a peaceful morning wander with a flask of coffee, a full day hike through the Lincolnshire Wolds, or a gentle amble that just happens to end at the pub (always a good idea!) — there’s something for everyone.
If you're planning a stay with us, here are some of our favourite walking routes, straight from your tent door.
Willingham Woods – Right on Your Doorstep
This beautiful stretch of mixed woodland sits just beyond our fields, and it's a lovely way to start or end your day. You’ll find wide, well-kept paths perfect for a short stroll, a bit of forest bathing or even a longer loop if you're feeling energetic. You’ll often spot squirrels darting between the trees, and if you’re lucky, deer grazing quietly in the undergrowth.
Best of all, there’s no need to jump in the car – the woods are right here, waiting to be explored.

The Viking Way – A Trail Through Time
Running for 147 miles from the Humber Bridge down to Rutland, the Viking Way passes directly by our glamping site. Now, we’re not suggesting you tackle the full thing (unless you’re feeling adventurous!), but even a few miles along this historic trail gives you the chance to take in sweeping views across the Wolds, open countryside, and a real sense of peace.
Many of our guests enjoy a circular walk that follows the Viking Way before looping back through Willingham Woods or the surrounding lanes. We’re always happy to recommend a route depending on how far you'd like to go.

Tealby & The King’s Head – A Proper Lincolnshire Gem
This is one of our personal favourite Local Lincolnshire Walks — and we’re pretty sure it’ll become one of yours too!
Tealby is a picturesque village, around a 3-mile walk from Into The Wild, and it’s home to The King’s Head, the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire. The route there takes you through countryside fields and quiet lanes, and if you time it right, you’ll arrive just in time for a well-earned lunch or a drink in the sunshine.
(Top tip: If you're here midweek, they often have great food specials — just ask and we’ll let you know what’s on.)

Wildlife & Wildflowers – Nature at Every Step
Because we’re nestled in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, walks around here are full of surprises. Depending on the time of year, you might spot:
Buzzards soaring overhead
Owls calling at dusk
Butterflies and wildflowers along the hedgerows
Or even a shy deer disappearing into the woods
It’s one of the things we love most about this place — the quiet moments, the wildlife, the way everything slows down when you're out walking.
Not Sure Where to Go? We’re Always Here to Help
We know the local paths like the back of our hands (well, most of them!), so if you're not sure where to begin, just ask. Whether it’s a quick half-hour wander before dinner or a longer route for a full day out, we’ll point you in the right direction — and we may even have a few secret spots to share.
Local Walks Lincolnshire - Know Before You Go…
Here are a few little things to make your walking adventures even better:
Bring comfy footwear – boots or wellies, depending on the weather
Don’t forget a reusable water bottle (and maybe a flask for a mid-walk brew!)
Binoculars are great for spotting buzzards and deer
And if you love a good photo, bring your camera – the light over the Wolds is beautiful, especially at golden hour

Come for the Glamping, Stay for the Wandering…
Here at Into The Wild, we’re all about slowing down, breathing deeply, and reconnecting – with nature, with each other, and maybe even with yourself. And there’s truly no better way to do that than by heading off for a walk with the wide Lincolnshire sky above you.
Whether you’re strolling hand in hand through the woods or discovering a new view with every turn, we hope your stay gives you the chance to explore — and to fall in love with this little corner of the world, just like we have.
